Are You Playing to Win?
Or Playing Not to Lose?

Don’t Let Doubt Take You Out—Why Pushing Through Matters

We all know what it feels like to get stuck—to feel overwhelmed by a project, a decision, or a challenge that suddenly seems too big to handle. When that happens, doubt sneaks in, whispering that maybe we should just walk away.

That almost happened to me.

How Doubt Almost Took Me Out

For years, I talked about writing a book. I finally took action and hired a ghostwriter to help me organize my thoughts. But when I saw the first draft? I froze. It felt like a mess, and I had no idea how to fix it.

So, I did what many of us do when we feel stuck—I ghosted my ghostwriter.

Instead of working through the problem, I let doubt win. I avoided it, put it on the back burner, and convinced myself it wasn’t the right time.

The Moment Everything Changed

Then, I made a commitment—to myself and to someone else—that I would review the draft, have a conversation with my ghostwriter, and make a decision: move forward or walk away for good.

As I dug in, I realized the problem wasn’t the writing. The problem was that I had abdicated the process. I let someone else shape my vision instead of leading it myself.

And that was the breakthrough. Once I took back ownership, everything clicked.

What This Means for You

Doubt is tricky. It shows up when we’re at a critical turning point, convincing us to pause, to wait, to retreat. But here’s what I learned:

  • Clarity comes after action, not before.
  • Avoidance only makes the problem bigger.
      • You have to own your vision—no one else can do it for you.

I’m back in the game, and the book is happening. Don’t let doubt take you out. Whatever challenge you’re facing, push through.
