Sales objections. They can feel personal, frustrating, and sometimes even defeating. I know because I’ve been there. Over the years, I’ve learned that objections aren’t just hurdles—they’re opportunities waiting to be uncovered. In this blog, I want to share what’s worked for me and the people I’ve coached to help you approach objections with confidence and ease. |
The Emotional Side of Sales |
Let’s face it—sales is emotional. When someone says “no,” it’s hard not to take it personally. I used to struggle with this too. But here’s what I’ve learned: managing your emotions is key to handling objections effectively. The ability to stay calm, composed, and curious can make all the difference. |
Turning ‘No’ Into Opportunity |
When I hear “no,” I don’t see it as the end of the conversation—I see it as the beginning. Objections are often clues about what the other person needs or is worried about. By pausing to listen, asking thoughtful questions, and responding with empathy, you can turn “no” into a path forward. Here are three steps I use: 💠Pause and Listen: Take a breath and really hear what’s being said. Take emotion out of it! 💠Reflect and Redirect: Make sure you understand their concerns before responding. Then ask questions to clarify and dig deeper 💠Respond Strategically: Align your offering to their priorities and the responses to their questions. |
The Power of Practice |
Handling objections isn’t something that comes naturally—it’s a skill you develop over time. That’s why I created the Objection Handling Boot Camp. It’s a hands-on, interactive experience where we practice navigating objections together, so you leave feeling prepared and confident. |
Why You Don’t Have to Do It Alone |
Sales can feel isolating, but it doesn’t have to be. I’ve seen how being part of a supportive learning community can transform the way we approach challenges. When we learn together, we grow stronger—both in our skills and our mindset. |
